Dressing up for desi events often loaded with the pressure of styling yourself in a completely different way than your daily look (at least for most of us). I remember sulking and feeing lost over the dress code. Also let's not to forget how expensive Indian suits and saris are to invest in for one event.
The idea was to style myself in a desi-looking outfit with my everyday clothes. So, I paired tailor-made palazzo pants (again from my mom's sari) and a cape blouse and some statement accessories. Since it's modest and the accessories add a traditional touch, this outfit is just right for a Diwali night party or a family get together.
Do let me know how you repurpose your everyday clothes for a more desi look.
