Humidity, pollution and excess oil secretion all contribute to those tiny black spots on the nose. Though exceedingly common, not many know they’re easily manageable with a regular skin-care regimen and sometimes with the help of an effective face scrub.
Why do you get blackheads? Before you try to solve the problem, it’s important to understand why we get blackheads. They are clogged pores with a mixture of dead skin cells and oil. Exposure to air and pollution oxidizes the blockage, turning the tip black.
How to get rid of them?
Start with a regular skin care routine. Make sure you remove your makeup and cleanse your face every time you get back home. Wearing makeup constantly does clog those pores and will inevitably contribute to blackheads.
Regularly exfoliate your skin to keep those blackheads away. Try a gentle face scrub like Himalaya’s Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub. The first rule of exfoliation is to not overdo it and over-massage, thereby damaging the skin. Use a gentle hand in circular movements for maximum effect. Adding a scrub to your weekly skin routine is highly recommended especially if you suffer from the constant presence of blackheads. This process is like deep cleaning for your skin and helps in removing dead skin cells. This product works well for both oily and dry skin. For those of you with oily skin, the scrub helps to remove the excess sebum whereas for dry skin it’ll get rid of the flaky build-up.
As an added bonus, the scrub is fortified with walnut granules that gently exfoliate dead skin cells and blackheads while apple, rich in natural antioxidants, helps stimulate cell renewal, giving you soft and younger looking skin.
After you’ve scrubbed your face clean it’s time to moisturize. Since I use the scrub at night, I lather on a nourishing night cream to wake up with fresh skin. It’s extremely important to moisturize your skin; this helps you heal the scars and seal in the open pores. I try to stick to products within one brand so currently I am using and totally loving the Revitalizing Night Cream by Himalaya.
So, how do you battle blackheads?
