Day four was filled with art and crafty creations by our innovative designers. It started with Kallol Datta's collection where in he maintained his signature style with a twist. Orange jumpsuits, vermilion reds, and block prints ruled the runway. Kallol has interesting elements to his clothes and accessories like duct taped block shoes, a jersey plait at the back of his dress. The show was opened by Atsu Sekhose and the audience was welcomed with his mix of fresh colours. Little Shilpa, Manish Malhotra, Bhavna Sharma and Sabina Chopra cheered the designers. After the show I caught the two designers seeming relaxed and chatting with a few models.
Another interesting aspect of the shows are the photographers aisle. Multiple photographers gear up to shoot the show, and start hooting every time a celebrity enters to capture their shot. For many the time between the shows is boring and tiring, for me on the other hand, I enjoy observing the hustle and bustle. Designers add their final touches for their shows, journalists sipping their coffee/wine and many filing live updates from the media room.
After some live updates it was time for some live art. Anupama Dayal collaborated with Dulux Velvet Touch and had two artists painting a part of the ramp as the models walked in the colourful ensembles. Each designer has a unique style and concept and the presentation on the ramp is as important to exemplify. Anupama's show understood that.
The highlight of my day was when I was chatting with my current favourite designers – Shivan and Narresh. Love their blend of sharp silhouettes and soft shades. They were stylishly dressed and the warmest people. I couldn't help but ask Narresh about his unique glasses, he told me he bought them three ago from Italy. I predict this trend catching on.
The last two shows of the day were Rocky S and Pria Kataria Puri. Rocky styled the Cantabil's collection, I think he is a better designer than stylist. I was happy to see Pria's show, she had interesting embellishments with tassels and sequins to her kaftans and maxi dresses.Read this post on Vogue.in
