The modern day treasure hunt is not for a pot of gold but the perfect pair of jeans. It’s a process that takes effort, diligence, and endurance. Consider me your jean genie, who'll guide you to the perfect pair of jeans for you, no matter your shape or size.
Everyone deserves to find their own true love in a pair of jeans, so take a peek at my denim guide below and allow me to simplify your search.
You carry weight around your hips and lower half. Look for a mid-rise slightly flared or straight fit pair of jeans to create a balance. This will flatter your shape and elongate your silhouette. For a curvier figure, boot-cut jeans will slim your frame and without adding bulk to your legs.
Quick tip: Avoid those artfully-ripped or light-wash denims as they could inadvertently highlight your problem areas.
With a heavy top and thicker waistline, apple shapes need denims that are more flattering around the midriff. The ideal fit for this shape are ankle grazing straight fit denims.
Quick tip: Steer clear of a super skinny, tight fit and avoid high-waisted trousers–which will draw negative attention to your middle area.
The goal here is to create an illusion of length to balance your petite frame. Opt for high-waisted skinny fit jeans. If you're used to wearing heels then I'd recommend a pair of high waisted flared denims with your trusty heels.
Quick tip: Just be sure to avoid anything that is too baggy–you will look like you’re drowning in denim!
A full balanced body usually has many options. To show off those curves go for mid-rise skinny fit denims in a dry wash. A pair of wide-legged trouser-style jeans will work wonders for enhancing your waist.
Quick tip: make sure that you pick a pair that isn’t too low-rise, or you might be exposing a little too much of your curves every time you sit down.
Toned, fit shapes usually need to add curves for that feminine touch. Look for a pair of straight jeans that fit at your hips and thighs and loosen up on your calves. You could also go for mom jeans, straight out of the '90s and making quite the comeback. Usually they have a tapered led with a comfortable fit. Your lean figure can stylishly balance the overall fit.
Quick tip: Style those mom jeans rolled to the ankles and show off the high waist with a crop top.
