The one thing I’ve learnt in the world of fashion is that the small tricks and tips make all the difference. Whether it’s a drape or cuffed jeans, beauty lies in the details.
#1 Make the drape stay:
It’s every fashion editor’s approved trick to look chic in seconds. But often the trapped jacked loosens up and falls off your shoulder. Here’s my tried and tested trick: simply use double-sided tape to make that jacket stay in place all day long. You can also invest in fashion tape, available on amazon.com.
#2 The pushed up sleeve:
Nothing says effortlessly cool more than a blazer with pushed up sleeves. I love a graphic tee with boyfriend jeans and a blazer with cuffed sleeves. It’s frustrating to keep pushing up the sleeves so here’s my hack: wear a hair tie on your sleeve and then push up the sleeve as per your choice. This will hold it in place and your sleeves will look naturally and seamlessly rolled throughout the day.
#3 Belts are game changers:
From cinching your waist to slim your frame or to complete your look, belts are the under appreciated must-haves of your closet. I usually go for a wider style if I'm going to wear it at my true waist. Here’s an easy tutorial to transform your shirt into a crop top with a wide belt.
#4 Always cuff your jeans:
That’s if you want to look nonchalantly cool. Take your slim-fit, regular fit or boyfriend jeans to the next level with the pin roll cuff. Pin rolling is fashionable on both men and women's jeans, creating a tapered, form-fitting look that shows a hint of your ankle, boldly patterned socks, ankle boots or strappy stilettos.
#5 The side/half tuck
As seen in on all your fashion nemeses and all over your Pinterest boards, the haphazard half-tuck is the way to don a chic louche look. Show off a fun design element by only tucking in a specific part of your sweater or give a chunky knit some shape with a tiny tuck. This works well with shirts and blouses too.
