Fall Trends

One of the many exciting things about the Fall is that we get to experiment with different styles and trends. Top of our list was the sweatshirt trend, with tempting styles and prints from Kenzo to Givenchy to the more achievable pret brands like FCUK, Marks & Spencer and Zara.

How we wear it:
  • There’s nothing hotter than the boyish nonchalance of a sweatshirt paired with a billowy skirt (see here).
  • Contrary to common belief, sweatshirts are very slimming and look great with shorts, denims and palazzo bottoms.
  • Feeling cosy or just lazy? Pair your favourite sweatshirt with your tracks and enjoy some hot cocoa!
  • To add some shape and character, layer with a fitted blazer. See here.
Sonu wore a sweatshirt with ripped denims
Sweatshirt, Splash| jeans, Bangkok (overused here, here and here)| bag, Kashmir Novelties (worn with a skirt here)| heels, c/o Steve Madden| necklaces, Aquamarine

Jasleen wore a tunic with a maxi skirt and stacked up rings
Skirt, Mango (last worn here)| tunic, Vero Moda | heels, c/o Steve Madden| bag, DKNY| cuff, Aquamarine| rings, Romwe, Aquamarine & Blur

Nothing brings a smile to our face like a handful of stacked up rings. Give your bracelets a break and invest in some stackable rings and necklaces.

How we wear:
  • Big or small, real or fake, understated or over-the-top, picky jewellery that suits your style.
  • Experiment with your baubles by wearing a few oversized cocktail rings on different fingers like Jasleen does here.
  • Either way, it's a fun, eclectic way to show off your jewelry collection and give your look some rocker-chic appeal.

Take 5: Calvin Klein Jeans

We are super close to the ultimate party and here are trendy tips on what you could be wearing for the big night. Hint: The Bad Ass Party Girl!

The Big Party Bag
Why restrict yourself to an itsy bitsy clutch for a night out? It is high time that we admit to ourselves that no matter where we go, our world must travel with us. However, we won't allow a boring day tote to ruin your party look and hence recommend this highly glamorous bag that likes to party all night long.

The Bomber Jacket:
There was the era of the boyfriend jacket and now is the time for the season's quintessential bomber jacket. The fur accents add a sexy edge. Red lips and high heels will complete your look for the upcoming party season.

Leather Accents:
This season the bad girl makes a comeback and leather details on panels, collars, liquid leggings or elbow patches are a must own season trend.

Liquid Metal:
Shimmer and shine your way through the ultimate party of the season. Silver, gold, bronze or copper latex tops, short dresses and drape styles are a must-own.

The Party Jean:
Confidence is key to carrying off any look and the glittering party jean is the ultimate candidate for a girl who holds her own in style. For those who swear by their jeans day or night, this is the perfect fit.

Shop these trends at all Calvin Klein Jeans outlets.

Wintering Up

We love winters at Fashion Bombay and will take whatever little comes our way. A couple of fun ways to stylishly cover up never hurt anyone.

Sonu wore a dip dyed blazer

Winter wear tips:
1. Layer up with oversized blazers and jackets instead of buying thick woolen sweaters.
2. Winter clothes usually come in dark colours so add pops of colour with your accessories and makeup.
3. Use two t-shirts, a shirt and a tee or mix and match blouses to beat a slight chill in the air. This is a good way to avoid bulky knit wear.
4. Always keep a soft stole and some body lotion in your bag for emergencies.

5. Enjoy the chilly weather till it lasts!

Take 5: Play dress up with FCUK

This season brings so much fun and activity to every household. From wedding parties to dinner dates and club nights, the season offers so many occasions to dress up. We decided to use our time doing some fashion research for the ongoing party season. Here are some trends we spotted at FCUK and want to incorporate these elements in our wardrobe for the season.

Glitter
A girl can never have too much of shimmer and shine, especially on a fun party night. You can incorporate them in your dresses, shoes or accessories. If you don't want to overdo the trend, these belts are the perfect beginning.

Holiday cheer
We are feeling the love with this red splash at FCUK. Replace the LBD with red for a change and spread the joy. Red looks great on any shade of Indian skin and is a great way to make heads turn.

Perfumes
We were surprised to find some really amazing fragrances at the store ranging from sexy vanillas to elegant florals, ideal for the holiday season.

Neck details
Get comfy and carefree and give your neckpieces a rest for a while. This season brings with it some fancy neck details in sequins, pearls, embroideries and what not. Look for collar details, a pop of colour or texture.

Crocodile & quilted textured handbags
The fierceness and sexiness of the texture can add the right amount of edge to your outfit. This season don't forget to mix this texture with sequinned shoes, shiny cocktail dresses and delicate fabrics.
