With a little research and experimenting with styles at the Steve Madden store made us realise that there are in fact certain types of heels that lend themselves to being naturally more comfortable, support our weight and not make us sprain our ankles.

Rock the Block:
The chunky block heels helps us balance our weight and doesn't put as much pressure on the foot like pointy heels do. We also like how they look – very vintage, very retro and very chic. Block heels can be found in various styles like strappy and pumps for instance. In our experience, the better they hold you foot, the higher the comfort. Single straps for instance even in block heels are tough to manage, for us anyway.
Sledge a wedge:
The wedge heels are timeless but we do hold our reservations for the jute and cork ones, they just wear out very soon. The close toe pumps and Maryjanes and peep toes styles however spell absolute comfort. Even in wedge heels we have seen ones that arch your foot to a great height, now those feel make your feet ache. You want ones where your feet stay as flat, as close to the natural shape as possible.
Perform the platform:
Now let's face it! Block heels and wedges look lovely for many occasions but if you want to turn on the sexy metre, you have to pull out them high heels. But since we speak of comfortable heels, how do the slim sexy ones fit in? Well simple, try the cheat shoes with platforms. They look intimidating but they in fact reduce the arch of the foot and make your feet a comfortable platform to rest on. And we have easily spent a couple of hours in them so we know it's doable.
A big thank you to Tejaswita Sawant, Manager PR @ Reliance Brands Limited for inviting us to the store.
