Grandma chic and the traveller

Sonu had an easy day with some books and coffee in the nearby library. She was inspired by the classic style of grandmas. I bought this dress from a quaint old store in Colaba, they are also local tailors. The Chinese print and the bright red on the dress was a perfect mix and had to be bought.

Sonu wore a ¾ length dress with nerdy glasses
Dress, Carolyn| wedges, Bandra| bucket bag, Oberoi Shopping Mall| glasses, Tommy Hilfiger
  • ¾ length pants or dresses can make you look short; pair them with wedges for some added height.
  • Prints are a great way to distract from your problem areas. If you are an hourglass shaped like Sonu, add a belt to your waist to show off your curves.
  • Wedges are a great way to add height with comfort. For an easy day around home opt for such block heels.
While Sonu was with her books, Jasleen was up and about all day long and went to her mum's house for the day. I thought of wearing a comfortable travel look for the day. My very sweatpant-ish Zara harems with a casual graphic tee and a big travel bag paired with sequined ballerinas. My baby sister Gurleen snapped these pictures and was very happy as my first-time photographer.

Jasleen wore sweatpants with a big travel bag
Pants, Zara| tee, United Colors of Benetton| shoes, Bandra| bag, gifted by my father-in-law
  • Sweatpants are in vogue btw, whether its for a shopping trip, in-flight wear or even brunch with friends.
  • Depending on the level of dressiness you want pair it with a casual tee, a light jacket, an oversized blazer or a sexy shirt.
  • Wear it with dressy shoes like gladiators or wedges for a semi-formal look.
  • You must have in your closet one overnight bag in leather or suede. It looks very English and is a classic travel bag choice. A suede duffel bag or a hard-top candy coloured trolley mini suitcase can be your pick. If you head to the Dharavi leather market in Mumbai they even custom-make trabel luggage in the colour and design you want!
