The assignment

We were on a personal shopping assignment for a client getting ready for her daughter's wedding. While out at the Palladium among other places for shopping we stopped at TGIF for a quick lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our Chicken Veracruz served with rice and chicken sausages. The peach iced tea is also to die for.

Although we couldn't take complete ensemble pictures, due to technological reasons (battery ran out), we thought we'll share some pictures of the day and tips/reasons for choosing our outfits.

• Sonu wore her floor length shirt dress as a cape. A long cape can make quite a statement by itself.
• Wear it to accessorise your plain pants and top combination.
• Add a brooch or links or simply a big cuff to accessorise your ensemble.
• While buying a cape make sure the material is suitable for where you live. In a weather like bombay cotton, hokoba may be your best bet. Fabrics like silk, satin, brocade make great evening wear for your Indo-western clothes.

• A denim shirt is just as basic in your wardrobe as an LBD or a white shirt. You can do so much with it.
• Wear it with a floral skirt and lots of badges and ballerinas for a cute look.
• Wear it over a dress with Brogues and links for a vintage look.
• Although I don't really dig the denim on denim combo, I think if worn well with nice jeans and a jacket to break the monotony, it could look so old-school and pretty.
