History repeats itself

It's all about motifs and mixing fabrics this season. You'll be greeted with flowers, owls, butterflies and elephant motifs in the market. Fabrics this season are a mix of velvet, brocade and suede.

Here's what we have to showcase for you guys:

The bib is in

This gorgeous bib collar necklace is a versatile buy. At Rs 1,000/- from Curio Cottage, this necklace is perfect to add glamour to your plain tees or tops.

Biker chic

This necklace reminds of Madonna's accessories in the 80s. This faux leather necklace with studs and beads from Aldo Accessories will go perfectly with your little black dress. At Rs 1,750/- it's a little steep but soooo worth it.

Flower Power

This season flower motifs are very in. They're everywhere on clothes, accessories and several other items. Here are a few of them:

1. Brocade clutch
This clutch was an absolute steal from Forever New for Rs 600/- There was a recent sale in Forever new, wherein there was a buy one get one free offer. We loved this clutch at the first sight.

2. Embroidered clutch
This clutch is from Malaga and was thankfully gifted. (We wouldn't spend on a Malaga just yet) This over sized clutch is very pretty, purple with the black embroidery is just to die for.

3. Get rosy We aren't big fans of roses in reality, but this rose was too hard to resist. We found it at a local store in Bandra for Rs 200/- only.

4. From mum's treasure chest Jasleen got this broach from her mom's wardrobe. It's simple beautiful and oh so vintage! It's a priceless item.

5. Box full of goodies I got this box with a wedding invitation and I decided to save it as a box full of goodies. It's actually extremely easy to replicate. Just cut some satin material in the shape of a flower and stick to a plain box with fabric glue. Since you'll customise it, you can add brighter colours to it.

Animal Planet

You'll find it had to resist various animal printed and shaped motifs this season. We certainly couldn't.

1. Elephant broach
This oriental broach is from Thailand which we got from an exhibition at World Trade Centre. Keep an eye to get your very own elephant as well!

2. Most wanted! The owl is by far, the most wanted bird this season. You can escape them. This pendant available at Aqaumarine, Regal.

3. The butterfly effectI love butterflies and when I saw this broach at Poply, it was like this butterfly was made for me. At Rs 800/- I happily got my very own butterfly home.

Velvet Revolution

We always loved velvet, even when it was not "in." Here are some of our collection :

1. Velvet clutches

This over sized clutch was a find in a local store on Colaba Causeway. After several attempts of bargaing, we got this clutch for Rs 1,000/-

This electric blue clutch with sequences is a perfect replica of a batua our mothers would carry around. We found this one in a small shop in the Oberoi Shopping Mall. At Rs 400/- we both felt the need to get the same clutch.

2. Messenger bag This messenger bag is Jasleen's latest purchase from Promod. The tassels, the velvet and leather combination was too tempting, I for one, totally understood her sentiments. It's also available in a silver-grey shade for Rs 1,200/-
